Mississauga Waterfront LAKEVIEW Village Awarded Best New Community Lakeview Village will create a place where people can connect with Lake Ontario. Lakeview Village will breath new life into Mississauga’s waterfront. A large-scale recycling effort is underway with the last vestiges of the old Lakeview coal-fired power plant – the large concrete generator footings – being broken up and donated to the Region of Peel and local conservation authorities. The rubble is being reused to help construct the 64-acre Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area next door.
